Get to Know Skeenarang Booma

My name is Joshua K Skeen, I am from the Australian aboriginal Birri-Gubba & Kuku-Thaypan tribes of Far North Queensland, Australia. I am the youngest son of Joe Skeen Snr, an 85-year-old Aboriginal elder.

My father Joe Skeen Snr originally established Skeenarang Booma in (1998) and he is widely acknowledged as one of the best and most experienced Aboriginal boomerang makers in Australia. My father, Joe Skeen (Snr) was taught by his father and grandfather over 71 years ago and still makes boomerangs using traditional Aboriginal techniques and designs. Growing up and working alongside my father, he has shared and passed on all his experiences to me in the art of making hand crafted Aboriginal Artefacts.
